Today Russia is withdrawing troops from Georgia returning to their original positions prior to the conflict. Less then 8,000 troops will remain in South Ossetia and Abkhazia, which Russia has now recognized as independent nations. The withdrawal will take place over the next week. Russia has also already said they are open to having foreign peacekeepers move into Georgia. [...]

Peace in Georgia
Russian forces secured a buffer around South Ossetia and Abkhazia and didn’t go further then that. The long term solution should be up left up to the current negotiating process, I don’t know what the outcome will be but I believe there is scope for an agreement. Actions speak louder then words.
