The city of Toronto has passed some new measures, one of them will create a 5 cent fee starting June 1st for plastic bags. Thats bad news for plastic and good news for the environment. I’ve already made the switch back in July and have been much happier for it.
In addition to environmental concerns, haven’t you had enough with those ripped handles? Not to mention the red lines left on your hands that feel like paper cuts after carrying a heavy load?

It turns out, the green grocery bag won the day!

Vlad, I heard on ChumFM that 500,000 grocery bags fill up the landfill every year. That’s disgusting. Although the policy enforces a meager 5cent penalty for using a plastic bag, I am optimistic that people will be less likely to use a plastic bag, but rather, bring a re-usable bag.
