This book was on the national bestseller list, a Globe and Mail best book, winner of the Writers’ Trust of Canada’s Shaughnessy Cohen award for political writing, and shortlisted for the Donner Prie.
If you don’t have a lot of time to read but still interested in an insider’s account of how we got into Afghanistan, read the first 20 pages of this book and I guarantee that it will challenge your preconceived notions about this war. It certainly rocked my own assumptions and gave me a new appreciation of the decision to stay out of Iraq.
