Here is the bottom line: At this point in the election, those who describe themselves as Republicans will likely vote McCain and Democrats will likely vote Obama. The fight is over independents and Obama offers change in a new direction while McCain offers to fix past mistakes.
Visually, Obama looked steadier and relaxed. Obama also highlighted where he agrees with McCain and that reassures independents that he will work with republicans. McCain did really well at times but did terrible at other times, that isn’t the steady leadership that those who are still undecided are looking for.
In other words, “Joe the plumber” is actually going to vote for Obama.
