Mississauga-Erindale Upset

Mississauga-Erindale took a major turn this election. Omar Alghabra (LIB) lost to Bob Dechert (CON) by 239 votes, 0.46%. This was a big surprise to many, including me, who didn’t see this coming. Personally, I am very saddened by this news because Omar was very helpful in our successful campaign for child care at UTM and sympathetic to our arguments for a more accessible education when I was VP UTM for University of Toronto Students’ Union. I wish Omar luck in his future endeavors.
