Gallop poll shows Obama up by 11% over McCain. Thats an all time high. So is it over as James Carville suggested on CNN? Absolutely not. We still have about a month before voting. In Canada and England, the entire campaign period is about a month. Anything can happen and the worst thing that Obama’s campaign can do is loose the feeling of an underdog. If people think you are going to win, they are much less likely to volunteer, donate, and vote. The reality is that if you look at the electoral map, its still very close in the swing states and Obama needs to win there. There is also a ton of work to be done on the ground. Obama’s campaign still needs to:
1. Continue to fundraise and recruit volunteers at record numbers to afford a 50 state campaign.
2. Register a record number of people to vote and keep building that database of potential voters.
3. Win early voting.
4. Get out the vote on election day and beat McCain/Palin turnout.
It ain’t over yet and what’s left is everything.

Vlad, you are absolutely correct. Anything can happen in one month. Politics is like that. You never know how the tide will turn until it does. The pundits can talk all they want, but the people need very little to make them change their minds…whether people support McCain or whether people support Obama, the truth is that this election in America is historical and this last month is going to be a memorable one for more than just the Americans.
