I think Harper’s war room may be buckling under pressure of the expectation that they have to win a majority government. Most recently, Ryan Sparrow, a senior Conservative spokesman, sent out an e-mail to a TV station that questioned the legitimacy of a father whose son was killed in Afghanistan because he criticized Harper’s plan on the war, suggesting there is political motivation. Harper had to suspend Sparrow and apologies for this incident today. This is the second apology in the first week of the campaign that Harper had to make on behalf of his senior staff, the first one was that embarrassing puffin pooping thing which I still don’t really get. Considering how quick this campaign is, Harper’s war room is really blowing it.
Perhaps the most embarrassing part of the self afflicted carnage is that the Conservative war room is still insisting that their attack websites and features are down because of “too much traffic”, yeah right. The reason why those sites are down is because they are carefully checking all the attacks they have to make sure they don’t have to apologize for anymore partisanship on steroids. So far, Harper’s war room has probably spent more time looking over their own mistakes then the mistakes of others. Thats certainly not how majority governments are won.

No doubt, Vlad. I think it’s time the tories put an end to their charades and started talking about policy and how to move this country forward.
