Yes, I liked the show and decided to check out the movie, what? (starts to wonder if this blog was a good idea).
“Great fairy tale” is how I described it walking out at the end of the film but I do like the underlying message of the film which is: forgiveness. And I will forgive the cliché glorification of the materialistic “American Dream”, although I now know way too much about Louie Vuitton bags, did you know people actually rent them? By the way, this movie definitely earns the “R” rating and the “sex” part of its name. It will make the TV series seem like the family channel.
The movie does receive two thumbs up from me because I think the message of forgiveness and giving people a second chance is an important one to make considering today’s divorce rates. Too often, in today’s popular culture, we are taught that we should get rid of relationships at first sign of trouble but thats not how real life works. Its not how my parents have stayed married for over 30 years and its not how the other 50% stay together through the good, the bad, and the worst. Forgiveness, as my mother once told me, is the most important quality in a relationship and its one that the movie highlights in an appealing and mainstream way.
The movie is also a breeze of fresh air, blowing off the traditional love story where its all about the “romantic guy” who makes all the important decisions. In Sex in the City, its all about the girls because they are in the driving seat. Not exactly a revolution in feminist thinking but certainly a change from the traditional perspective.
Overall, worth the ticket price. If you are a guy, go see it with your girlfriend or wife, might make your life a little easier if you screw something up.

Its great to see a male not affraid to show interest in this movie! I feel all males should see it or watch a couple of episodes because gives insight on the female species, how we work, think, feel….and of course all the shoes and purses we’d like to own….and how much we dream of gigantic closets. I don’t understand why most males are against the movie. Its as if they are insecure about their masculinity. I feel that all the males going out to see this movie…are the smart guys. So i’d like to give two thumbs up to the movie of course, and two thumbs up to those males smart enough to watch the movie.
p.s
My last word of advice to the male population, if u see a classy looking lady at a bar (looks independent, carrying herself well, etc.) skip the rum and coke….buy her a COSMOPOLITAN : )
