For those that read multiple sources to get the full story, this will come as no surprise, there is no such thing as unbiased media. Here is a perfect example of how the same story is seen through the lens of two politically opposing newspapers. It has to do with Tom Lukiwski, Conservative MP who apologized in parliament for homophobic comments.

In the media’s defense, I don’t think its realistic to actually report only bare factual bones of the story, it would be like reading an encyclopedia. Secondly, would you really expect a reporter to cover a genocide or a war without them having a bias towards what they are seeing?

I think most bloggers will tell you somewhere that they are openly biased and its because of that honesty that I think political bloggers have become another source of information for many including my self. Its a small media revolution. No longer are we limited to the bias of different mainstream media outlets, regular Joe’s like you and I can post our own biased opinions and reach out to anyone with an internet connection.

That being said, it would be nice if Fox News, Macleans, National Post and others would bring it down a notch, sometimes it gets to a point where spin is all there is.
