A word of caution to all those right wing conservative bloggers who trust Ezra’s expert legal advice.
“I posted a .pdf of the book as an exhibit to a blog post…I didn’t get into the legalities of it with Howard — for example, the fair-use doctrine, etc. — because he appealed to my belief in property rights.” - Ezra Levant who holds a Law Degree from University of Alberta
First, fair-use doctrine is U.S. law.
Second, in Canada we have fair dealing law. Ezra, however, posted a copy of the yet-to-be-released book online without permission.
According to Harbour Publishing, “as a lawyer he should have known better.”

Ezra Levant is a lawyer kinda like somebody who takes a psychology course or a political science course is a psychologist or a political scientist. Word is he has not practised law often, or well. He makes REPEATED mistakes in his favourite area, defamation law, both in the suits he continually launches and in the suits he is constantly faced with from people HE defames. He sometimes calls himself a constitutional lawyer, but, well, check his record on THAT! lol…Even in the area of “general law” he is known to be confused, at best, as the book publishing episode reveals…your point is a good one: anybody, especially conservatives, who believe this reckless fella is a reliable source for legal opinion, should think again. The man is a political hacktivist, and one even most Conservatives shy away from. He is a sideshow act at best.
