A combination of factors lead to Obama loosing Ohio & Texas primaries. The majority of voters make up their minds in the last couple of days. Statistically, those who decided who to vote for in the last 3 days before voting, overwhelmingly choose Clinton. Here is why:
- Press: All of a sudden, CNN and other press decided to question their own media bias and use Obama as an example a 2 days before the vote, putting doubt in the minds of voters as well. The whole media bias story actually originated from a certain Republican News station (FOX), I think its pretty clear who republicans would rather run against.
- Press again: CNN and others just seem to fall in love with that 3am phone ad, giving Clinton a HUGE boost by giving her what all candidates love most, free media. No matter what the critisim was, playing that ad over and over again on news stations had the same affect on voters as the Daisy Ad… free media which can swing elections at the last minute, proven once again.
- Canadian Officials leaked a memo suggesting Obama’s adviser reassured them that talk about re-opening NAFTA is just political talk, did senior Conservatives have a role in the perfectly timed attack on Obama? It seems too well planned to just be a random act chance… although possible, the affect was “unfair” to Obama nontheless, according to Harper himself in Question period.
- Last but not least, the late night entertainment shows such as the Daily Show and Saturday Night Live looked as if they pretty much endorsed Hillary. I was especially surprised with John Stewart of the Daily Show, it looked like a well scripted commercial for her campaign. I heard that those who watched Saturday Night Live say their perception of Hillary changed for the better after watching that as well.
If you add all that up, thats a very impressive effort for Clinton, her campaign team definitely earned their paycheck on Tuesday, even her speech was much better.
