Looks like Harper engineered another confidence vote and introduced a motion to extend Canada’s role in Afghanistan to at least 2011.

If the Liberals abstain on this crucial vote for Canadians and not bring down the Harper’s Bush-like war mongering philosophical world view, I am not sure how the centre left who is ideologically against the war can ever forgive that betrayal.

After all, being against any war is a fundamental “liberal” value, if the Liberal party abstains this time around too, I expect Canadians that oppose the war to seriously look towards other parties that make their decisions based on principals rather than popularity polls.

Afghanistan is the issue to go to the polls on, Dion won’t get a better shot than this.
