The Supreme Court of Canada struck down the previous Security legislation, calling the indefinite detention of foreign nationals unconstitutional. The court gave Parliament one year to come up with an alternative or the bill would expire.
Last time, just a few days before the vote on that unconstitutional security bill, the Toronto 18 were arrested right before the vote on that bill after being under surveillance for 22 months prior to (btw, they are still awaiting trial).
Now a new vote, Bill C-3, the new securities bill which still includes the controversial security certificates and the National Post digs up this, RCMP investigates a lonely and angry young men who likes to spread hate in internet chat rooms & comment sections on websites calling for all kinds of crazy and insane nonsense. All this a few days before the vote on the bill.
I am starting to get a de ja vu here.
What Salman said was indeed disgusting and should be condemned but it seems every time there is a vote on the securities bill, a few days before the vote, something like this, is discovered.
Last time, it resulted in people overlooking that the Bill was unconstitutional.
