Canvasing for Barack Obama

We are Canvasing the lower suburban area of Charleston, getting lots of positive responces.

Tons of people are excited, in fact we were followed by a group of kids begging us for signs for their parents.

I’ve never seen anything like this, the vibe is incredible.

Charleston, West Virginia

Going to campaign for Obama, for what looks to be the one of the few primaries left.

Will be posting updates, pictures, and videos of the experience once I get the chance, stay tuned!

They split Indiana and Obama decisively won North Carolina by 16%. In the days to come you’ll hear all kinds of political analysis of what happened but I think think Chelsea’s reaction (who did an amazing job at campaigning by the way) in the background says it all. Good job to Clinton for putting on a good fight, she is the only politician in the world who could have put up the fight that she did. Now is the time for healing during the next few primaries left in a positive and uplifting manner, I hope all people who are progress first, partisan after, realize that.

Political Contrast

Comment

Canadian Politics: Well, ain’t much happening here in Canadian politics. The soft rays of sunshine are rushing in as vocation seems only a skip and a hop away. As predicted, no election this summer as Dion prepares to do a cross country tour, so far Conservatives have out fund raised the Liberals 5 to 1, even NDP is fund raising more these days. Harper continues to increase transparency and accountability by getting rid of access to information registry, yep its just another day in Ottawa these day. Do expect an election call some time after the summer break, I suspect there would probably be a mutiny if Dion waited until the scheduled election time on Oct. 19, 2009. Actually, not mutiny, more like political cannibalism.

American Politics: Today will be the next “game changer” in votes held in Indiana and North Carolina, how many of those have we had so far? I’ve lost track. No folks, Obama will still be the inevitable nominee and Clinton will still claim she is more electable, trying to change the definition of winning. The only thing that could change is the amount of super duper delegates that will be lining up to endorse Obama if he wins at least one of those states.

Since my exams are done and I feel like I need to get my yearly dose of campaigning, I plan on making the drive down south, stay tuned.

Once the road is chosen, sometimes you swirl without knowing where to go next. Just remember that you are still on the same path and what you really need to do is get back in your lane.

Information travels at the speed of light. News delivered as it occurs in real time. Incredible technological innovation that analyses, crunches, translates, formats and delivers. Yet the truth is yet to be illuminated.

Another Clinton supporter switches to Obama

Joe Andrew who was appointed by Bill Clinton to be the Democratic National Committee Chairman back in 1999 has now switched sides and supports Obama because:

“The simple answer is that while the timing is hard for me personally, it is best for America. We simply cannot wait any longer, nor can we let this race fall any lower and still hope to win in November. June or July may be too late. The time to act is now.”

He probably realizes that Clinton can’t win at this point. I think after May 6th, they’ll be lining up to endorse him.
